Summary
I am currently in my sixth year of teaching in White County. I am currently teaching A/V Productions and advising the club, Warrior Media. In the past, I taught both 8th grade and 10th grade English. In A/V class, students learn how to plan, film and edit. In addition students are learning relevant skills such as reading and writing that are essential to all careers. We also try to implement various technologies in our classroom to ensure students are college and career ready–and to make learning more engaging for them.
Education
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Communications: Journalism and Public Relations in 2011. In 2013, I received a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction: Secondary Education English. Additionally, I have an Ed.S in Educational Technology. I am certified to teach English grades 7-12, Radio/TV Broadcasting and Electronic Media. Education has been a big part of my life. I strive to share the passion for education with my students.
Classroom Technology
Students learn to film and edit with industry standard technologies in A/V Productions classes. Students learn to film using the Sony A7s and using their own personal devices. They learn to edit their videos using Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Other technologies students have access to include the DJI Phantom Advanced drone and the DJI Osmo gimbal. Students also have access to a full TV studio complete with professional lighting, video and audio equipment and backdrops.
